SUR+ came in second in the Dutch local final of Climate Launchpad

At the end of June, SUR+ came in second in the Dutch local final of Climate Launchpad. The 3 best teams are invited to the finals in Estonia that will take place in October, so SUR+ will be there with about 90 other national finalists.  Ten will make it through to the Climate-KIC accelerator program, and the top three also win cash awards..

Climate Launchpad is a initiative of Climate KIC, a European organisation that focuses on sustainable innovation across Europe.

SUR+ aims to reduce food waste in the agricultural sector in the Netherlands. SUR+ developed apps for farmers, restaurants and food banks in order to facilitate the communication between the supply and demand side of surplus products. They offer high-class restaurants access to quality surplus products in their local region for a similar price as regular A-class products. Farmers get a fair price for their products and 10% of surplus produce is donated to local food banks.
